Ni hao yall! We had a very exciting weekend. We went shopping in a grocery store! That may not sound exciting to you, but remember, I am easily amused. You would have thought I got in free to Disneyland...I was mesmerized! Oh wait. First let me explain. Everyone calls this grocery store the western store. I don't even know if it has a name. Anyway, I was so excited because I thought it would be just like Safeway or Kroger, but it was still very Chinese. Gosh, I'm in China, I should have known...anyway, they had cereal,and some crackers, and Campbell's soup, and cookies. They also had cheese, which is pretty hard to find, and all the fixins (not sure if that's a word) for spaghetti,and Western shower supplies like Herbal Essence. Yummy. I was so happy. Oh yeah, the store is in the basement of a huge mall, which is also a source of great amusement-
Even the mannequins love it here!

This is the milk aisle-its not refridgerated!! They sell it in pouches. I don't understand. I stood in front of this for a very long time until Mike reminded me that the Chinese characters wouldn't be changing into English any time soon.

This is one of many Noodle aisles. So many noodles, so little time. Mike was quite pleased that I was documenting our trip to the grocery store. Notice his big, sweet smile.

And here we are in the cab ride home.It's not really cold enough to wear that coat, but I like to pretend.

Wow, I'm putting things up on this website that people do and see every single day all over the world, and carrying on like it's real real special.I realize that I like how much fun the everyday things are for me since I'm on another continent. Perspective-I finally have a new one. I have visions of myself when I get back, in the grocery store in the USA (I usually would rather eat dirt than shop for groceries) gripping the handle of my basket, eyes closed tight, and saying to myself, "I'm in China, I'm in China, I'm in China...."
