We went on another really long walk today. I’m getting good at this walk around town all day thing. This entry will be “Picture Pages with Julie.” Not Bill Cosby. And you don’t get a pen with my head on it. And I won’t play silly games with you. (Well yes I would. And if you don’t remember Picture Pages with Bill Cosby, none of that makes sense anyway) Point of my rambling, I’m just going to show lots of pictures today. Today is also in honor of my Aunt Jaine. These are for you Jainey Bug… This is the inside of City of God temple in Old Shanghai. Mike was too scared to go in. Okay, not scared, but a lot of people were going inside to pray, and he didn’t want to disturb them. I might as well have carried a bullhorn screaming, “I’M A FOREIGNER!!!! LOOK OUT!!” I was quiet and respectful. And I turned the flash off.

This is the Zigzag Bridge that leads to the Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse, in Old Shanghai. I don’t know who those dorky tourists are.
This is what’s all around that teahouse. It’s called the Yu Garden Bazaar. Tons of shops. If you go in a shop, beware. Salespeople will instantly accost you. I bought jeans today but I really didn’t want to. I was forced into the purchase. This lady pulled me around by my wrist and basically threw me into a dressing room with a pair of jeans. Then she stood in the doorway, watching me, to make sure I was really going to try them on. (I sort of wanted to moon her but I didn’t.) Then she dragged me out to Mike, turned me around, patted my bottom, and gave the thumbs up sign (with both thumbs!) Needless to say, I bought the jeans.

Mike is developing somewhat of an obsession with these dragons…

And at 9:00 pm Shanghai time, Mike and I walked in our very own Race for the Cure in honor of my Aunt Jaine. Little Rock, AR was having theirs at the same time. We walked down a crazy outdoor mall strip called Nanjing Road. We made a sign. We took pictures along the way. We got lots of stares. Here they are…I love you Aunt Jaine!!!

At the end of Nanjing Road is a place called the Bund. Great views all around. Here are the tourist nerds again!!!!
